Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital, with his family by his side on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at the age of 78.
Beloved husband of Patricia Roden (nee Hunt). Loving father of Michael Roden. Son of the late Berkeley and Margaret Elizabeth Roden. Dear brother of Wendy Robinson (Bob Faulkner) and Janet Veenstra (John Ray). Brother-in-law of Robert Hunt (Diane). David will be sadly missed by his nieces and dear friends.
David was a scientist at Forestry Canada, conducting entomology research studying gypsy moth, spruce budworm, and the Asian longhorned beetle. Among his favorite pastimes were flying his Cessna 180 airplane, bird hunting with his dogs, summers at the cottage, and snowmobiling with Bob and Gary.
Friends may visit at the Arthur Funeral Home- Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street E., 705-759-2522) on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm. Memorial service to follow in the chapel at 1:00 pm. Mrs. Helen Smith officiating.
