Rev. Dr. Alton A. Gould – 1922 – 2013

Went home Saturday, January 5, 2013 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario Canada in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Phyllis for 64 years. Loved father of Gail Storey (Martin), Robert (Sherry), Sandy Holloway (Denny) and the late Ann. Dear GranDa of Tracey Storey Ohm (John), Sara Storey Brown (Patrick), Becky Storey Calleja (Vic), John Gould, D.J. Holloway, Ryan Gould and Tarah Holloway. Predeceased by his parents Innis and Minnie Gould and his siblings Ellsworth, Beatty (Dorothy), Donald, Iva Sharpe (late John) and Elwin. Remembered by his nieces and nephews. Al gave his heart to the Lord in 1935 and was lead by the Holy Spirit to enter the Christian ministry being ordained in 1943. He was the youngest ordained minister in Canada of any denomination at the time. Throughout the years he served in a number of pastorates throughout North America. Al had a broad and influential missionary experience over many years. He labored in Hunan Province, China from 1947 to 1949 but was forced out due to the communist invasion. He travelled back to South East Asia where he served from 1954 to 1975 in Hong Kong and the Philippines. When Al retired from active ministry, he continued to serve with Evangelize China Fellowship. A celebration of Al's life will take place at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on the day of his 91st birthday, Saturday, June 1, 2013. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the F.J.
