Peacefully at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice, with family by her side on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at the age of 84.

Beloved wife of the late Donald Redmond. Proud mother of Chris and Jo-Anna (Giunti), Paul and Jacquie (Petrovic) and Jeff and Stephanie (Anderson).  An artistic talent, downhill-skiing, tennis-playing Grandma to Grace, Abigail and Samuel, John and Matthew, Max and Finn.  Dear daughter of the late Marjorie and Donald MacAulay.  Sister of Marion Colliander (late Wayne) of Denver, Colorado.  Sister-in-law of David Redmond (Muriel).  Aunt Catherine to four nieces and a nephew.  Will be sadly missed by her “friendly little creature” Raven.  Cremation has taken place.  A celebration of life will be planned for the summer of 2021 when this whole COVID-19 thing is behind us. In lieu of flowers, donations (payable by cheque or on line) to ARCH, the Humane Society, Canadian Red Cross or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Our mom was never shy with strangers (or opinions), she enjoyed the solitude of walking her dogs around Barber Blvd or along Canoe Point Road, where she was certain to happen upon acquaintances, new and old. She had fun, travelled, crossword puzzled, never missed a nap, and beat to her own drum, painting, mothering and making the most of each day.  She didn’t mind sparring, definitely enjoyed competing and liked to have the last word, but cared very deeply about her family, friends and community. Dad will have to put his book down and welcome mom home again.  A sincere thank-you to Dr. Nicki Apostle and the team at ARCH who helped ensure our mother was allowed to pass with grace, dignity and peace. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street E. 705-759-2522). Please visit the Arthur Funeral Home obituaries to leave a message of condolence for the family.
