William Lorne (Bill) Rathwell passed away peacefully at the Algoma Manor on Sunday, May 4, 2003 at the age of 84 years. Loving husband of 60 years to Ethel. Dear father of Robert (Sandra), Carla Richardson (Leonard), Sheldon (Shelley) and Richard (Mary Jane). Cherished grandpa of Jason & Andrew, Erin & Travis, Steven, Mark, Mathew, David & Michael, Sarah, Ricki & Bill. Dear brother of Ken (Bernice), Arvella Hurley (Calvin), Joyce Newman and the late Carl. Brother-in-law of Bill MacKay (Mearl), Sadie Willis (late George), Gladys Gordon (late Jack), Sophie MacKay (late Jim), Vera MacKay and the late Ronald MacKay, Ralph MacKay (Edna), Edna Fraser (George), Isobel Junor (Bill) Sylvia Grexton (Vern). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Wednesday, May 7 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, May 8 at 11:00 am with Rev. Bruce McLeish officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Algoma Manor Special Care Unit or to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated by the family.
