Ratchford, Patrice Christine

With great sadness, the family of Patrice Christine Ratchford announce her passing on Sunday July 12, 2015 at the age of 56 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto. Patrice is survived by her son Tristan (Rachel); mother, Rose; sister Catherine (Vince Mormile); brother; Mark; and nephew Aaron Mormile. She will always hold a special place in the hearts of the Dubravich and Yukich families. Patrice was born Feb. 1, 1959 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. to Rose and the late Michael Ratchford.  Patrice’s zest for life and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone she met. Her three passions were the outdoors, nursing at Sunnybrook Hospital with her fellow “sisters” and “brothers”, and sailing with her friends of the Highland Yacht Club. Funeral services and cremation have taken place in Toronto on July 15, 2015. Heartfelt thanks to all her incredibly devoted fellow nurses of the Critical Care Unit and the Oncology and Palliative staff at Sunnybrook Hospital. Donations in her memory can be made to the Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation, Oncology Program. There are some who bring a light so great to the world that it remains even after they have gone. It is with gratitude and love that we will always remember Patrice for that.
