At Parkwood Hospital, London, ON, on Thursday, March 10, 2011 in the presence of her children and grandchildren, our beautiful mom, Rita Pszeniczny (Fera), at the age of 76, gently surrendered her life on earth to our loving God. Mom was predeceased by her adoring husband of 54 years, Walter Pszeniczny. We pray that they are once again reunited in their eternal travels. Thankful for the final gift of mom’s courage and grace, we her family, Nick and Doris Pszeniczny (children Brian and Jamie), Lori and Robert Lewkowitz (children Nathan, Lindsay, Marlo and Alex) release her into God’s care and draw comfort that her pain is now over. Rita is predeceased by her parents, Marietta and Leonardo Fera, brothers Ledo Fera (Nevis), Lefty and Robert, sisters Rose Marasco (Frank) and Algeisa DeSimon (Frank). Rita is the dear sister-in-law of Bill Pszeniczny (Phyllis), Dan Pszeniczny (Gayle) and the late Lena Berry (Albert), Sophie Zeppa (Joe), Zanny Pszeniczny and John Pszeniczny (Mary). Rita is the cherished aunt of Betty Anne and Peter Belec and their children, Kathyrn (Joe Tevc) and Lisa (Paul Hapanovich) and their children Michael and Sarah. Rita leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and many treasured friends, notably the ladies of the ‘Club’- Pat Offidani, Angela Coyle, Lena Luciani, Rose Huard, Dora and Joyce Scarfone. Rita was an enlivening presence, elevating those around her with her unshakeable spirit and resolute faith. She lived for her children and grandchildren, always drawing great joy and happiness from family gatherings and shared meals. She will forever be remembered for her pleasant demeanor and her warm and gracious hospitality. Special thanks to all the doctors in Sault Ste. Marie and London and the entire 5th floor Parkwood Hospital Palliative Care nursing staff for their outstanding care and compassion. Friends will be received at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 492 Wellington St. East, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on Tuesday, March 15, 2010 from 6-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 26 Carmel Road, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 10 am. Msgr. Victor Amadio officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) (Sault Ste. Marie) or Parkwood Hospital Palliative Care Unit (London) would be appreciated by the family.
