Passed away peacefully, with her daughters by her side, on Friday, February 9, 2024, at the age of 98, at Strathmere Lodge in Strathroy, Ontario. She now joins her beloved husband Gabriele, who has been waiting for her for 52 years.

Ida was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family. Her daughters Enrica Perri (late Joe) (Jim Gallo) and Silvana Nelli (Anthony) will forever hold her closely in their hearts. Ida was the treasured Nanna to Carmine Perri (Jennifer), Janet Wardle (David), Marsha Baker (Chris), Amanda Nelli (Peter Maund), Stephen Nelli (Mayada), and Darlene Perri. She will be deeply missed by her great-grandchildren Joseph (Mallory), Maia, Samantha (Brandon), Alicia, Erika, George, Lucas, Samuel, Emily, Sienna, and Kianna.  Ida was born into a family with eleven children and married into a family with nine children.

Friends and family are invited to visit Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. -705-759-2522). on Friday, February 16, 2024, between 10:00 am and 11:30 am, followed by a funeral mass at Precious Blood Cathedral at 12:00 pm, with Father Jeff Shannon officiating. Entombment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations to Strathmere Lodge Auxillary or A.R.C.H. are gratefully accepted.

Special thanks to Ida’s doctors who provided excellent medical care throughout her life: Dr. Frank Ianni, who was Ida’s doctor in Sault Ste. Marie, and Dr. Julie Copeland and Theo Karaouzas, who were Ida’s doctors in Strathroy. Also, a special thank you to the staff at Strathmere Lodge for the exceptional care provided to Ida in the last four years.

Ida epitomized strength and selflessness, making countless sacrifices to ensure her family's happiness. Her greatest joy came from seeing her family gathered around the table. Family meant everything to her.  We will always remember and cherish her legacy of love and sacrifice for her family. She will forever be our guiding light as we strive to live by her example.
