May 15, 1931- April 27, 2023

Passed away at the Sault Area Hospital on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at the age of 91.

George leaves behind his loving wife of 68 years, Anita (nee Pete), and four cherished children who made him so proud: Alisa Yednoroz (Steve), Bill, Jeff (Elizabeth), and Suzanne Luck (Ted). He was predeceased  by his parents Albert and Ina Priddle (nee McKinney) and his sister Margaret Kent (Ron). He is survived by his brother John (late Diana). George also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Corey (Kara), Kierstin (Owen), Dusty, Samantha (Mike), Nicholas, Hannah, Sophie (Alex), and Franklin. He was a great grandfather to Benjamin, Natalie, and Lillian.

George loved life, people, music, and the Sault. He never had a mean word for anyone, but usually had a joke. He was a lawyer for 40 years and looked forward to the practice of law every day. Although a brain injury forced early retirement in 1997, he continued to lead a fulfilling life, never letting it dampen his incredible enthusiasm or devotion to his family. He was an eternal optimist. During his career he was part of the amalgamation of Tarentorus with Sault Ste. Marie and followed up by running for city council.  He was a huge supporter of Searchmont where he was part owner and instrumental in keeping it alive many times over the years. He was an avid skier, coached young racers, and knew just about everyone on the hill. George loved to play tennis, volleyball, and was a voracious reader. He spent many wonderful summers boating on all the Great Lakes and embraced the Florida lifestyle and cruises in his retirement, as well as time at the George Leach Centre and VON programs. His favorite place was his cottage on St. Joseph Island where he spent summers for almost 60 years and never grew tired of saunas, looking at the lake, and taking what he called dock walks. He thought he was the luckiest man alive.

Family and friends are invited for a visitation at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street E. 705-759-2522) on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 12:30 - 2:30 pm followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm in the chapel with Rev.
