The family announces the peaceful passing of Suzanne Gabrielle Premo (Lapointe) at ARCH Hospice in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, on Saturday, March 16, 2024.

Suzanne was beloved and cherished by her family who meant everything to her. She had a smile that could light up a room and a twinkle in her eye. Her heart was pure, and she openly shared an unconditional love with others who would cross her path. Suzanne was intelligent, kind, and witty. She deeply loved Gary, her husband of 52 years, their children Jason (Tracy) and Julie (Tim) and her beautiful grandchildren, Liam, Morgan, Evan, and Conner. Suzanne was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and friend. She often shared that being a mother and grandmother was her greatest joy in life. She truly lived life to the fullest and enjoyed the simple things; the sunrise, the sunset, a delicious meal with family, playing card games, laughing, and spending time in nature. She loved Prince Lake and all the wildlife and beautiful scenery.

Suzanne was the daughter of the late Arion & Annette Lapointe and sister of the late Gaetan, Micheline LeBlance (late Paul), late Carl Lapointe (Nancy), Regine Drouin (Henry), Joanne Maguire (John), Mike Lapointe, and Debbie Lapointe. When Gary and Suzanne married, she became part of the Premo Family; predeceased by Gary’s parents, Gladys and George Premo and sister-in-law of Shirley Kindred (late John), Late Marie Gereghty (late John), Gladys Graham (Leslie), Ron Premo, late William Premo. Suzanne was a cherished aunt to many.

When Suzanne was diagnosed with cancer in 2018, she accepted her diagnosis and prognosis with a positive outlook. She continued laughing and living. We are confident that all who crossed her path during that time felt her unconditional love and strength. A special thanks to the Oncology Team from Sault Area Hospital, the Doctors & Nurses on 3B & 3C, and the team at ARCH Hospice who compassionately cared for Suzanne. We cannot name everyone, but it was important for Suzanne to acknowledge those who crossed her path over the past several years. Thank you to Dr. Megan Culina, Dr. Landy, Dr. Law, Dr. Bishop, the Nurses on Floor 3, Kate, Sophia, and Connie. Thank you to Dr. Apostle, Dr. Buehner, Dr. O’Brien, and the team at ARCH for their exemplary care. To the team at ARCH, Suzanne would like to send a special thank you to Cheryl, Mackenzie, Brenda, Erica, Jenna, Jennifer, Nathan, Nicole, Heather, Kelly, and all the staff and volunteers who made Suzanne’s time there a beautiful one. A special thank you to Suzanne’s new best bud Trudy and Chef Tom for making those great Ice Coffees Suzanne loved. A special thank you to Dr. Spadofora & Louise Cameron from Oncology at Sault Area Hospital.

In Suzanne’s memory, remember to live life to the fullest with no regrets; love your family & friends and if you are inspired, please perform a random act of kindness in her honour. We will miss you deeply, but the experience of our beautiful life together will comfort us always.

Donations to ARCH Hospice are appreciated. There will be a Celebration of Life announced later for family & friends.

Forever loved and missed; we know you will always surround us with your love. Until we meet again beautiful soul.

As Suzanne shared with us, remember me for:

I will be with you,

In the Sunrise & Sunset,

In the Birds,

In the Trees,

I will be your wings,

To love and support you.

Every day in every way.
