PORTER, Linda Mary (Waywebzo Migizi Kwe)

Flying Eagle Woman. Member of the Eagle Clan. – Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital after a courageous battle with brain cancer, with her family and friends by her side on Friday, August 16, 2013 at the age of 47. Predeceased by her parents Leroy and Gladys Porter. Loving mother of Gordon Porter, Kyle Porter and the late Sheldon Porter. Sister of Georgina Porter and predeceased by Lyle, Chester, Debbie and Jenny. Linda will be sadly missed by her best buddy Brenda Syrette. Special niece to Hilda Syrette (late Jerome). Linda will be sadly missed by many dear family and friends. Friends may call at the Garden River Community Centre on Monday, August 10, 2013 from 5 pm. Traditional burial to take place on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 12 noon at the Garden River Anglican Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Detox Centre in Sault Ste. Marie. Special thanks to all the service providers in the Sault and area who have taken care of Linda over the past many years including city police, OPP, Anishnabek Police, Batchawana First Nation Police, City Transit, Emergency Services, SAH Detox, The Crisis Shelters, Indian Friendship Centre, Disability Office and Club 14.
