PITT, Grace

Jennifer and Lorie sadly announce the passing of our best friend and mother, Grace Pitt on Sunday, February 15, 2009. Daughter of the late George and Edna Neilson. Dear sister of Margaret Hampton (John) of Streetsville and the late Greg Neilson (Audrey). Beloved "Big Momma" to Jason, Michael and Andrew. Very special aunt to Dave (Lynn), Cathy (Gary), Susan (Larry) and Peter (Hedy). Great
aunt to several nieces and nephews. Grace move to Sault Ste. Marie and began her career in radio and television broadcasting that spanned nearly 40 years. Her voice
was familiar to everyone. She started in radio co-hosting the morning show with Terry O'Connell and eventually became Women's Director and hosted her own TV show.
Grace was also one of the founding members of the Great Tug Boat Race and acted as Chair of the event for several years. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home &
Cremation Centre on Friday, February 20, 2009 from 11 a.m. until time of memorial service in the chapel at 1 p.m. Rev. John Wilson officiating. At mom's request,
donations to the SAH Oncology Unit and ARCH would be greatly appreciated. Special thank you to Dr. Walde and the care provided by his staff, Dr. Fratesi, the 5th
floor critical care staff and especially Lisa and the entire team at ARCH.
