Our beloved Pa started his journey to the spirit world. Honouring his wishes, he passed peacefully at his home in Garden River surrounded by family on Thursday, February 15, 2024 after a long battle with cancer.

Our Pa is now reunited with his late wife Yvonne (nee Souliere), his sons Lynn and Stacey, his daughter Maureen and his grandson Daniel. We loved our Pa with all our hearts. He had a special relationship with each and every one of us. He will be dearly missed by his children Lois (Pat), Lynne (daughter-in-law), Candy, Todd (Natalie), Luanne, Holly (Jay), Tricia (Keith) and Trevor. His 27 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and he was proud to be expecting a great-great-grandchild this summer. Son of the late Dan and Loretta Pine. Our Pa will be joining his sisters that went before him, the late Gertrude (late Stan), late Betty (late George), late Geraldine (late Leonard), late Beverly (late Bernard), late Donna (late Albert) and late Joanne (Les). He is survived by his siblings Doreen (Harold), Eda (John), Gail (late Stan), Willard (Marie) and Morley (Marlene). Son-in-law of the late Steve and Agnes (nee Sayers) Souliere. Brother-in-law of late Walter, late Mary Ann (John), Marjorie (Burton), Caroline, Helena (late Steven, late Norm), late Tyrone (late Kelly), Penny (Nauge) and late Dale. Pa will also be missed by Tyler (his favourite nephew, who he thought of as a grandson), Isaac Murdoch (whose visits he looked forward to and who he considered a true friend) and his good friends Clifford Waboose and Dean Sayers, who he had great respect for and who (at the request of our Pa) are both guiding him on his journey to the spirit world.

Our Pa was a respected medicine man and he truly loved healing people, sharing his knowledge and teaching others about the medicines. His passing is a great loss to all who had the pleasure of knowing who he was. Pa had a deep love for all walks of life and simply wanted people to be kind to one another. He wanted people to remember him as he was before his illness.

We would like to acknowledge and give thanks to his NP Rhonda Angeconeb, his palliative care doctor Dr. Apostle, his primary nurse Leah Nadon, and his primary PSW Roberta Rowe for going above and beyond in the care that you provided for our Pa. We would also like to thank Home and Community Care, Maamwesying PSWs, Wellness Centre PSW Annie Causley and his Bayshore Nurses. A special thank you to Neva Kelly, Donna McCreight, cousins Faye Holzwarth and Kerry-Sue Boissoneau for selflessly giving their time and helping us honour our Pa's wishes in keeping him at home.

At Pa's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522). Memorial contributions (by cheque or online) to A.R.C.H. would be greatly appreciated.  Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Pine family.
