Phillips, Joan Isabel

Peacefully at the Algoma Manor, Thessalon on Sunday, January 8, 2012.  Joan Phillips of Thessalon at the age of 77.  Daughter of the late Joseph Mathewson, and Jessie MacKenzie.  Wife of the late Merlyn Phillips and late Alvin Greer.  Mother of Brenda (Wayne) Creor of Thessalon, Judy (Dale) DeGagne of Iron Bridge, Jackie (Randy) Walsh of Iron Bridge, Ken (Kelly) Greer of Thessalon, Dennis Greer of B.C., and Charlie Greer of Thessalon.  Grandmother of 13.  Predeceased by granddaughter Ann.  Great grandmother of 10.  Step mother of Linda (Aldo), Cathy (Don), and late Tom (late Cindy).  Sister of Eileen Hoy, Ruth (Bob) Moore, and late Barry Mathewson.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visiting at the Beggs Funeral Home, Thessalon on Friday, January 13, 2012 from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11a.m.  Officiated by Charlie Martin.  Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery will take place in the spring.  Donations to the Algoma Manor gratefully accepted.  Special thanks to the Sault Area Hospital, Intensive Care Unit and Algoma Manor staff for their care of Mom.
