Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital, General Site, on Thursday, May 5, 2005 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of Jim for 64 years. Loving mother of Rod (Leslie), Bill (Marilyn) and John (Cathy). Cherished grandmother of Kerri Tessier (Kevin), James (Stephanie) and Jeffrey. Proud great grandmother of Jascha. Predeceased by her parents Eino and Ida Piekkola, sisters Esther Campbell (Lance), Kay Davey (Bob) and by her brother Ralph (Alice). Sister in law of Lee and the late Helen Stearns. Aunt of Brenda, Steven, Brent, Dennis, late Doug, Pam, Brad, Leslie, Grant and Christine. At the request of Ida, a private family service was held at the Barton & Kiteley Funeral Home & Cremation Centre 759-2114. Mrs. Janet Norman officiated. A heartfelt thanks is extended to Dr. Lane and the ER staff, Dr. Bignell, Dr. Maione and the wonderful nursing staff at 200A and 200Y for their care, kindness and compassion.
