PHILIPPI, Reiner

Monday, September 9, 2008: Having courageously battled against a severe heart condition, Reiner passed suddenly
at the Sault General Hospital. A memorial will be held in his honor in his childhood
town, Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. His cremated remains will be scattered near the
Assiniboine River; his youth's playground and fishing hole. Reiner was a solitary
man leaving behind his beloved mother, Mrs. Juanita Rogers; Dad, Mr. David Rogers;
biological father, Mr. Franz Philippi; older brother, Ralf Philippi (sister in law,
Mrs. Arlene Phillippi: nephews Robby and Cory); sister, Mrs. Stella Stromness (and
respective family: brother in law, Ed: nephews, Travis and Devan): sister, Mrs.
Christine (Tina) Groulx (and respective family: brother in law: Luke: nephew, Joshua
and Jessie). Reiner had various family members in both Canada and Germany, his place
of birth; and several friends throughout the provinces, including Sault Ste. Marie,
Ontario, namely Mr. Don Benoit, Crystal, and Jordan. Numerous condolences have
arrived in his honor. "You can close your eyes from the things you don't want to
see, but you can never close your heart from the things you don't want to feel".
