With family by his side, Ettore peacefully passed away at the Sault Area Hospital on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at the age of 75. Cherished son of Emilia Spadafora and the late Francesco of Cosenza, Italy. Loving brother of Carmine (Rosetta), Concetta (Aldo Bosco), Anna (Giuseppe Bosco) and Mario. Dear nephew of the late Mario (Francesca), Giuseppe (Angelina), Vincenzo (Ilda), Ada Rovito (late Luigi), late Silvio (Assunta), Frank (Fiorina) and Dora Occhiuto (Aldo). Proud uncle of Francesco (Angelina), Anna-Maria, Giuliana, Daniella (Nicola) and Matteo (Anna-Lisa). Adored great uncle of his many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his many cousins and friends, but especially his Compare Giovanni Cavaliere and Claude Bourcier. Uncle Hector will always be remembered and missed at the annual birthday celebrations, family gatherings and especially the Sunday evening family dinners with Chloe and Carmine always by his side.
Ettore loved to spend time and reminisce about the good old days in Calabria with the help of his aunts and uncles. He looked forward to when he could take a trip back to Italy to visit with his family. Ettore emigrated with his family to Canada in 1967. He was employed at Algoma Steel and finally retired after 46 years of service, of which he was very proud of.
Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Gregory’s Church at 12:00 noon. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to the SAH Critical Care Fund would be greatly appreciated by the family.
