passed away peacefully at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the age of 90.  

Predeceased by his parents  Arcadio & Ilia Peres.  Beloved husband of Clelia for 61 years.  Dear father to Greg (Louisanna), Lisa Rosset (Rodger), and Stephanie Howe.  Special gramps to Adam (Amandine), Ryan (Jessica), Erica, Lauren (Mike), Nadia (Jonathan), Cameron and Griffin.  Brother to the late Rudy (Angelina) and brother in law to Richard Morettin (Marisa).  Also survived by many nieces and nephews and friends.  John was one of if not the first to open the first Italian hair styling & barber salon in Sault Ste. Marie called Giovanni's.  He will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family, especially his grandchildren.  He loved his St. Joseph Island cottage and hunting which lead to many wonderful stories of his experiences that only 'HE COULD TELL'.   

A private service will be held at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Saturday, May 29, 2021.  Fr. Hamish Currie officiating.  Family and friends are invited to view the service beginning at 1 pm. Go to www.funeraweb.tv and select John's name.  A celebration of life will be held at Precious Blood Cathedral when restrictions are lifted and all of his family and friends can be together.  Memorial contributions payable by cheque or online to ARCH or to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation Renal Dialysis Care Fund would be appreciated.  Many thanks to the ARCH ANGELS at ARCH for the compassionate care given to our John.  John was so content staying at ARCH. You kept him comfortable and maintained his dignity in his final days.  Special thanks to the Renal Dialysis Unit nurses and staff, Dr. Shafiee, Dr. Berry, Dr. C. Bruni, Dr. S.
