May 25, 1932 - December 2, 2023 - It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our mom and best friend Angelina (Ange) Peres (née Borsellino) originally from Hamilton, Ontario.

For everyone who had the pleasure of spending even a few moments in her company would know the unique impact she left on everyone she met and how very much she will be missed and forever treasured by her family, friends and relatives.

Ange was the dear wife of Rudolph Peres for 61 years and cherished mother to Lori Ann Peres(Hulit) both of whom she is now sitting around the table filling them in on all she has shared with her son David Peres (Diana Mojica) Andrea Peres ( Doug Jackson), Stephen & Delia Peres. Her funny antics will forever be cherished by her grand children Chris & Kelly Hulit, Matthew Iannuzzi (Alex Hoffman), Kristiana Iannuzzi, Megan, Zoe & Luca Peres, Nicolas & Zachary Peres, and great grandchildren Levi and Kingston Hulit .

Many people have sat around our kitchen table and contributed to the fabric of our family story. The coffee was always on and anyone that dropped in was always welcomed with an open heart and the warmest smiles  from both Rudy and Angie. Angelina was a fantastic cook. Everything she made was unique and absolutely delicious. She was always ready to share her recipes with those who came into her kitchen for a meal with her family, but most importantly, with those who paid close attention to Angelina while she was cooking. She taught us to cook by feel and taste-written recipes were almost non-existent, she taught us the passion of home cooked Italian Cuisine. At the end, we all inherited Angelina’s amazing recipe.  Angelina’s real cooking lesson was about sharing a meal with the people you love, creating memories and bonds that will last forever.

Angelina had a busy and happy life. Raising 4 kids and always surrounded by friends and family. She was an avid bridge player and played regularly with the same group of ladies for over 50 years. She also played a little tennis, golf and enjoyed cross-country skiing with Rudy. Ange was also devoted to the community volunteering with the May Court Club and delivering Meals on Wheels to those in need.

Ange was never shy. She loved to dance. She danced and sang “My Way” by Frank Sinatra with such passion and energy. She would strike up conversations with everyone anywhere and left everyone she met with a smile on their face. All our friends loved her and when we came home to the Soo to visit, everyone came to our home, not to see us, but to spend time with Ange. She left a positive impression on everyone she met.

She will be missed by the cousins and the nieces and nephews in the Palango, Speziale and Peres families.

We want to share special gratitude to Jan Cardinelli who cared for our mom like her own. Arti, Ayushi and Bindiya, thank you for helping Ange's wish come true to stay in her home.  Also, special thanks to the Palliative Care Team at the Sault Area Hospital and the PSWs from Bayshore and CBI.

Friends and family are invited to join at Arthur Funeral Home -  Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East; 705-759-2522) on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.  Funeral mass to be celebrated from Precious Blood Cathedral (778 Queen St. East) at 12:00 pm.  Rev.
