Passed at the Sault Area Hospital on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the age of 87.
Mel was born in Toronto. He was a member of Royal Air Force, the Elks and the local Soo Pipefitters Union. He loved artwork, reading historical novels and enjoyed doing crosswords.
He is survived by his loving wife Val Verslype and his loving daughters Hilary and Stephanie Percival and Karen McKendrick (Hugh). He is also survived by his grandchildren Colin and Bethany. Dear brother of Joan Burhrow (Gerald). Uncle of Steve and Dan Hill and Deb McMullin.
