PEHKONEN, Sinikka Hellevi (nee Tuominen)

Passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the age of 87. Born on August 30, 1929 in Noormarkku, Finland. Predeceased by her loving husband of almost 36 years, Valto Kustaa Pehkonen. Sinikka is survived by her sister Eila Koski in Finland along with nieces and nephews Marja Nurmisalo (Martti), Tapani Koski (Mervi), Satu Laine and Juha Koski (Kirsi). Great nieces and nephews are Minna (Tomi), Jenni (Jani), Jussi, Tiina.  Great great nieces and nephews are Emmi, Eemil, Lotta and Maija. Sinikka will be fondly remembered by many friends at the Ontario Finnish Resthome. Friends are invited to the Kesti Tupa, Suomi Eesti Maja, 721North Street on Monday, June 19, 2017 for a Memorial Service at 1:00 pm. Rev. Brad Mittleholtz officiating. Coffee social to follow. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Ontario Finnish Resthome Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
