The family remembers with sorrow and love the life of Doris Ormiston nee: Pattemore who passed away at Rockyview Hospital, Calgary, Alberta on April 12, 2023 in her 94th year.

Doris is survived by her daughters Sandra (Jim) of Dixon, Illinois and Marilyn (Dave) of Calgary, Alberta and her brother Arnel Pattemore of Smith Falls, Ontario. 

She was predeceased by her husband Robert of fifty-four years, her daughter Margaret, and her parents Jean and Wilfred Pattemore of Smith Falls, Ontario. 

She is survived by her Grandchildren Jeremy Ormiston of Calgary, Jasmine Huyck (Gerry) of Sault Ste. Marie, Travis (Alex) and Benjamin Huyck of Dixon Illinois, and Kendra Wannamaker (Sean) of Toronto, and Erin Wannamaker of Calgary, Alberta. As well as Great Grandchildren Isabelle, Alexandra, Christopher, Nicolas, and Olivia. 

Doris moved to Sault Ste. Marie in 1950. She completed her Bachelor Degree at Queen’s University in the summer of 1954.

Doris was a teacher with the Algoma District School Board (1950-1990) and a co-owner of Dunn’s Authors book store in Wellington Square Mall with her husband Robert.

She was an active member of Central United Church for many years and a lifetime member of the UCW.

Friends are invited to visitation at Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East, Sault Ste Marie 705-759-2522) on Friday, April 21, 2023 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and to the Funeral Service at Central United Church on Saturday, April 22, 2023  at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Laurie Stevenson officiating. Internment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to view the service online starting at 11:00 am Saturday, April 22, 2023 and can be viewed anytime up to 90 days, go to www.funeraweb.tv and select Doris' name.

In memory of Doris, the family will appreciate donations to Central United Church Memorial Fund or to a charity of your choice.
