February 16, 1951 - April 22, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Sharon Olive on Monday, April 22, 2024, at the age of 73.

She was the wife and best friend of Jimmy, for over 50 years. Proud and dedicated mom of the late Shannon, Jeremy and Brian. She will be greatly missed by her beautiful granddaughters Sadie and Charlotte Olive.

Sharon will be missed by her brother, Brian. She is reunited with her parents, Elva and Ed and her sister Mona. Sharon was the much-loved sister-in-law of Randee Olive (late Colette), late Roseanna MacGillvary, Ted Olive (Rae), Teresa Belanger, Bev Fraser (late Alan), Michael Olive (Susan), and Bill Olive (Dot).

She will be fondly remembered by Chris Rowe and Leeann Charrette for their support and love. Special thanks to Nancy and Vern Milosevich for their friendship and always being there for Sharon.

Sharon was affectionately known as Auntie DD to her many nieces and nephews. They will remember her as the small but mighty aunt who wouldn’t hesitate to boss them around but was always up for anything! Those that were blessed to be her family and those she treated like family (which are far too many to name) knew they could always count on her for anything.

Sharon was very involved with Special Olympics as a parent, coach, and volunteer. She loved watching the athletes compete and was often on the sidelines cheering during baseball games and encouraging everyone at the bowling alley. She was a proud Mom who would not hesitate to take on whatever role was needed to support.

The family would like to thank the staff at ARCH for their support and guidance.

As per Sharon’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Sharon’s life will take place on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 2pm – 5pm at O’Sullivan Funeral Home (215 St. James St.). Any memorial donations are asked to be made to ARCH (payable by cheque or online using the link below). Arrangements entrusted to O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 215 St. James St, 705-759-8456.
