OLAR, Charles Edward

Posted

He was an amazing man!  After a long, courageous battle, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 with his family by his side.  Known as the “Mayor of Kirby’s Corner”, he retired after 42 years at the Welded Beam Division, Algoma Steel (Dominion Bridge).  Known as an avid hunter, fisherman and sports fan, you could always find Charlie where he loved to be the most—in his garden.  Predeceased by his parents Fred and Maria Olar of Glendale .  After 34 years he is reunited in Heaven with the love of his life, Leona.  Devoted and loving father to Lorri Hunter (Norm Lendvoy), Annaly (John Kind) and Ernie (Shelley) all of Goulais River.  Cherished Grandpa of Korbin & Kirby Kind, Dawson & Logan Hunter and “Harvick”.  Brother of the late Bill, late John (late Dorothy), late Dorothy Burke (late Albert), late Alex (late Dorothy), late Helen Ambeault (late Ray), late Walter Olar (Isabell), George Olar (Ruth), late Michaelo, Dan (late Gertrude), Paul (Pat), Pauline Pallot (late Lawrence), Anne Derkach (Ed), late Eli (Faye), late Marion Olar, Carolyn Strong (late Walter), late Nellie Loney (Stan), Harry Olar and Nick Olar (Janice).  Uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Friend of Jean Piche.  Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Sunday November 17, 2013 from 6-9 pm and again Monday, November 18, 2013 from 11 am until time of service in the chapel at 12 pm. Father Pat Woods officiating.  Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.  Memorial contributions to SAH Renal Unit or the Canadian Red Cross would be appreciated.  The family would like to thank the staff at the Sault Area Hospital on the Renal Unit, 3C and Complex Care as well as Ken and Karen from the Red Cross.  Expressions of sympathy may be offered at www.arthurfuneralhome.com www.arthurfuneralhome.com
