Passed away at ARCH on Monday, December 6, 2021, at the age of 72 after a valiant battle with cancer with his loving sister at his side. Loving father of twins Michelle and the late Shawna. Loving papa of Tegan and Caelen. Son of the late Leonard and the late Marie Nordgren. Brother of Lori-Ann Rix (Allen) and Paul (Heather). Uncle of Anitra (Albert), Mark and Kaija. Great uncle to Ezekiel (Zeke).
Chaz was born in Toronto and worked at Canadian Tire from his mid teens until the time he moved to the Sault Ste. Marie area in the mid 70's and then worked at Verne's Hardware until they closed the business in 2008. Chaz was a talented pianist with his teaching degree. One of his most memorable performances was at a large concert hall in Toronto, where he performed "Exodus" and received a standing ovation. He had a way of taking a piece of sheet music and adding his own notes and making it his own and put alot of feeling into his piano playing. He was also a talented artist, enjoying drawing, sketching and oil painting. Chaz's summers were spent around the pool with many gatherings with family, relatives and friends. Chaz was a very kindhearted man and he enjoyed life.
On Sunday he watched the video recordings "All Hail the Power of Jesus Name" and "Amazing Grace" by the same pianist he watched last Christmas who played "O Holy Night" and brought tears to his eyes (youtube.com/thecollingsworthfamily).
In the moments before he died, he looked upward and raised his right hand upward and then looked into Lori's eyes as she told him it's okay to go, we will all be together again, and she committed his spirit and soul into.
God's presence and into everlasting life, in Jesus name and he then took his last breath.
He had asked many years ago to play "If I Can Dream", by Elvis Presley at his funeral. At a later date he decided there would not be a funeral. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
This is the promise we have. We will see Chaz again.
