It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Tina Marie Newman, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, daughter, and care giver.
Tina was the epitome of selfless care and love, from son, to sister, to patient to stranger she devoted every ounce of her warm compassion and attention to those she cared for. A dedicated nurse, PSW and porter at Sault Area Hospital for almost four decades she touched the lives of many with her care and compassion. Tina would often receive recognition for her empathetic approach and extra dedication to her patients care.
Tina is survived by her Son Darren (Jennifer), Granddaughters Diamond and Seraphina, Mother Anita Daoust (Tom), Sisters and Brothers, Bernadine (CoCo), Gilles Vernier, Shawn Daoust (Jeanne), Laura Marcello (Tony) and Patricia Prouty-Wood.
In her passing Tina reunites with her late father Leonard Daoust, biological parents Bill and Katheen Newman, spouse Adrian Gabrylewicz and late best friend of many years Jane Roberts.
She will be missed by many nieces and nephews and all who knew her including close friends Christine Carson, Jaime Burns and the Sault Area Hospital family she loved immensely.
Tina loved her old 80's album's and movies and spending time with her family and those she was close to. Her warm smile and comforting presence always brought peace to those around her.
In memory of Tina, friends and family are invited to O’Sullivan Funeral Home (215 St. James Street, SSM) on Tuesday August 8th, 2023, for a Memorial Service in the chapel at 2:00 pm with Father Trevor Scarfone officiating. A visitation will follow from 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Tina's name to ARCH would be appreciated (Payable online or by cheque).
