NEVIN, Leonard Anthony (Len)

1937-2012 - It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Len Nevin on January 6, 2012 at Sault Area Hospital following a brief illness.  Beloved husband of the late Yuanita (Ward).  Devoted father of Christopher Nevin (Laurie), Theresa Nevin and Patricia Nevin (DJ).  Loving stepfather of Donald Figures, Brian Figures (Connie), Susan Figures (Mac) and Lori Kraft.  Grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of 6.  Uncle to several nieces and nephews.  Brother to Rita Adams (late Paul).  Predeceased by parents James and Isabelle and brothers Eric and Arthur.  Len treasured his close friendship with Brian Wilson. Len had a very active life doing what he loved, whether it was racing motorcycles and cars in the 60’s, to working as a ski patroller at Buttermilk Ski Hill.  He had a passion for woodworking and gardening and never hesitated to share his knowledge of anything. His greatest love was his wife Yuanita and the love they shared of country music.  They performed all across Ontario and Michigan with their band the Country Ramblers.  Len was a member of the Northern Opry and was inducted into the Great Northern Opry in 2004.  Len enjoyed performing for seniors at facilities through the Soo until just before his passing. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Monday January 9, 2012 from 11 to 1 p.m. followed by funeral service from the chapel immediately after.  Rev. Bruce McLeish officiating. Interment to take place in the spring at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Jocelyn Township, St Joseph Island.
