It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Lois when she went to be with our Lord Jesus. Born in Sault Ste. Marie to John W. Nelder and Mary Ellen Nelder nee Leach. Predeceased by her brother, Noland, sister-in-law Ida and nephew Gordon (Iris). She is survived by her niece Elaine Bradley (Richard), nephew James (Norma), great nephews Michael (Cindy), Christopher (Jessi), great nieces Amy (Vanessa), Jessica (Fred) and great-great nephews Caius and Linus, great-great nieces Natasha and Elanor.
Lois taught at several schools retiring from Parkland Public School. She attended Faith Baptist Church, Parkland Baptist Church and First Baptist Church. Lois was an active volunteer in her church and her community. Her family, faith and friends were central to her life. She will be missed greatly.
As per Lois’ request, a Graveside Service will take place. This will be on Tuesday April 25, 2023 at 11:00 am at Greenwood Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to meet at Greenwood Cemetery Chapel (27 Fourth Line East) and line up in procession to be taken to the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (made payable by cheque or online) to Faith Baptist Church Echo Bay, or the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
