Nelda Rae Hetrick

Nelda Rae Hetrick, age 82, of Kincheloe, Mich., died Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Hospice House of the E.U.P. in Sault Ste. Marie. She was born July 3, 1930 in McMillan, Mich., the daughter of Lawrence Elroy Horner and Leona Irene (Mark) Horner. Nellie lived in several places in Michigan for all of her life. She was a stay at home mom who dedicated her life to raising and taking care of her family. Nellie loved to travel and enjoyed playing cards. She was a long standing member of the New Apostolic Church where everyone called her Ma. Nellie is survived by eight birth children, Linda Lee (Dennis) Bliss of Lakefield, Mich., Gloria Jean (Ray) Elkins of Camden, Tenn., Cathy Elaine (Mike, deceased) Foster of Germfask, Mich., Shirley (Joe) Klein of Cheboygan, Mich., Warren “Buck” (Paulette) Hetrick of Cheboygan, Susie Hetrick of Kincheloe, Ruby Hetrick of Van Buren, Ark., and Roger Hetrick of Kincheloe; and two granddaughters she raised from birth, Jessica  (Case) Trumble of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and Nichole Mapes of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.; and by many more grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren – too many to count. She is also survived by two brothers, Robert Horner of Munising, Mich. and Larry (Diane) Horner of Sheridan, Mich. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Minor Reign Hetrick (in 1989); mother, Leona; father, Lawrence; step-father, John McDonald; sisters, Evelyn Tervo, Della Horner, Lavon Hetrick, and Opal Haley; and brothers, Albert, William, and Russell Horner. Services will be held Saturday, October 13 at Reamer Galer Funeral Home, 24549 S. M-129 in Pickford, Michigan. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. with the funeral service to begin at 3 p.m.Interment will be in Kinross Township Lakeview Cemetery.
