A beautiful bright light has been extinguished in our family. We sorrowfully announce the passing of Angelina in the early morning on Sunday, February 19, 2023.

Extremely devoted wife of the late Silvio Nardi. Cherished and doting Mother of late Baby Assunta, Susan Derosa (Hugo) and Linda Nardi.  Angelina was a beautiful Nanna to Mark DeRosa, Ami Madsen (Chris) and Amanda Baxter (Ron). She adored her great grandson Ryder.

She was born to Giacomo & Teresa Foggia. Cared deeply for her stepmother Gelsomina. Loving sister to late Gaetano Foggia (Vanda), Alfredo Foggia (Sisa), late Rita Carboni (late Sergio) and Frank Foggia (Nella). Sister in law of Gina Rossi (late Mario), Giuseppina Nardi (late Quinto) and late Francesco and Natalina Nardi. Many nieces and nephews from Sudbury, Toronto and Italy held a special place in her heart.

Angelina and Silvio were born in Aprigliano Grupa, Italy. They were deeply devoted to each other for several years before immigrating to Canada and getting married in 1952 at Mount St Carmel Church.

They left their beautiful country and family behind to embark on a new life with more opportunities.

We were so blessed with a loving warm and generous mother. When you were lucky to get an “Angie” hug, you felt totally enveloped in complete love.

She came from very humble beginnings, losing her own mother at the tender age of 7. She became a very responsible big sister to her siblings and a dependable member with the household chores.

Our mom recalled the early years of her life and it was hard to imagine how quickly she had to grow up and assume responsibility. She would tell stories of the poverty hardships and struggles the family endured.

Through all this our dear cherished Mom had an absolutely astounding sense of humour and was an incredible storyteller. She had an unbelievable mind and memory even to her last days and her sense of details was uncanny. She loved to make people laugh and was quite the entertainer.

Angelina was a fantastic cook and baker. She was the happiest when family and friends were around and she could feed them. Her children and grandchildren were her life. Her favourite past time was working in her beloved garden. She loved bringing little baskets of her beautiful vegetables to family, neighbours and friends. She really appreciated and saw beauty in the very simplest things in life.

There are an endless amount of people to thank for enriching Mom’s life, especially Nick & Trieste Delmonte for all the care packages they delivered to Mom. We appreciate every visit, phone call, gifts and kind gestures. The times she spent with neices Rina and Connie were a treasure to her. Mom always appreciated everyone and everything very much. She was loved and respected by so many people. We were always very proud of the genuine person she was.

Special thanks to Dr. Mark Jenkins and Denise, Dr. Hill, Dr. Reich, the wonderful staff at the Group Health centre pharmacy especially Carla, Martin, Dorothy, and Diane. Most recently thanks to Dr. Apostle, Bayshore, CCAC, and ARCH for support.

We will never forget the assistance Sophia Greco provided to Mom & family when needed most.

There will be a visitation at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St.  E. -705-759-2522) on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Mom/ Nanna, You will be deeply missed and never forgotten. We find comfort in knowing that you are reunited with Dad and many other loved ones. Heaven is a much brighter place with you in it. We have another precious guardian angel to watch over us. In God’s garden, you are truly the most beautiful flower.
