Age 81, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Thursday, April 9th, 2009. Margaret was a native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and entered the Sisters of St. Joseph in the late 1950’s. She served at the Sudbury General Hospital, until 1972, transferring to Thunder Bay to take up employment as Residence Manager at the Amethyst House Lodge. She later became the Business Manager for the then Ontario Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, until her retirement in 1992. Her interests included knitting, sewing, crafting, cooking and baking. Keeping in touch with family and friends was always of paramount importance.She is survived by her two sisters, Mrs. Patricia (Neil) Paolini of Toronto, and Elizabeth Anne Lawrence (Charles) of Charlotte, North Carolina. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces throughout Canada and the United Sates, including Mark and Nella Lawrence and grand nephew Bryan Lawrence, in Thunder Bay. Margaret was pre-deceased by her parents George and Olive Ryan, six brothers, Emmett (Eleanor), Alfred, Wilbert, John, Robert (Betty), James (Eula) and Clement in infancy. In keeping with Margaret’s wishes, cremation has taken place and funeral services and interment will take place in Sault Ste. Marie, at a later date.
