Passed away peacefully on Friday July 30, 2010 at the Lady Dunn Health Centre, Wawa. Rod was born August 30, 1917 in Muskoka, Ontario. Loving husband of the late Mary (nee Lushney) (deceased 1975). Dear father of Rod (the late Marilyn, deceased 1998), Hector (Wilma), Holly (Orville Smith) and the late Steven (deceased 1960). Loving and devoted grandfather of Jana, Andrea, Ryan, Alex, Scott, Darren, Corey, Morgan and the late Steven (deceased 2007). Proud great grandfather of Carter Lutes. Son of the late John and Johanna Morrison and brother of the late Neil Morrison (deceased 1972). Rod was a 42 year employee of the Algoma Ore Division, retiring in 1982 as Superintendent of Maintenance and he was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Wawa. Friends may call at the P.M. Gilmartin Funeral Home (140 Churchill Avenue, Wawa, 1-800-439-4937) on Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service at First United Church on Monday August 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. A Private Family Interment at Woodland Cemetery will take place. Memorial donations made to the Lady Dunn Health Centre Foundation or to the Wawa Senior Citizens Drop-In Centre would be greatly appreciated by the family. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and physicians of the Lady Dunn Health Centre who provided wonderful care for Dad over the past year.
