MORASSUT, Luciano

(Aug. 7, 1927 – March 29, 2012) passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital with his family by his side.  Luciano was a devoted husband to Mercedes (nee Delle Vedove) and a loving father to Mary-Lou (Mark Stevenson), Edward of London, Ontario (Lorene McCready) and Randy of Burlington, Ontario (Amy Hutchison).  He loved his grandchildren dearly: Devin, Margo and Maia Stevenson, Dillon and Luke Morassut and Madeleine, Gabriel and Nathaniel Morassut.  Brother of the late Piero, Elio (Elena), Dina Florean (Marco), Bruna Moro (late Luigi) and the late Sergio (Val). Brother-in-law of Primo (Vanda), the late Lindo (late Maria) and Gino (Laura).  Uncle to many nieces and nephews. The family is grateful to Luciano and Mercedes’ warm and caring community of friends.  Our dad was born on a farm in Sesto al Reghena, Italy and brought this passion to his garden on Estelle St. where he spent countless blissful hours. We fondly remember the stories from his youth, delicious barbecues, home-made wine/capicola and the get togethers at camp. The family would like to acknowledge the caring staff of the Complex Care ward of the SAH who always treated our father with respect and kindness.  Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Monday, April 2, 2012 from 6 – 9 pm.  Funeral Mass on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at St. Gregory's Church at 11:00 a. m.  Rev.
