MOONEY, David bio2
(September 14, 1954 - September 27, 2018) - Peacefully passed away at the age of 64 after a short battle with cancer.  Soulmate and best friend of the late Janet Mooney (nee Delayer). Devoted and proud father of Melissa (Chris Roelofsen), David Jr. (Melissa Gutierrez) and Megan (Cory Fife).  Proudest Papa of Cole, Courtney, Cameron, Cheyenne, Kendrick and Olivia.  Dear son of the late Art and Carol Mooney and loving brother and best friend of Allan (Robin) and Marlene.  Favourite uncle of Allan (Grace), Anita (Stan), Adam (Lisa) and Amber.  Son-in-law of the late Douglas and Marion Delayer. Brother-in-law of Dawn, Lynne, Joe, late Laura, Jane, Joan and Joy. Dave was a special friend to so many including friends from Sault Ste. Marie who he remained in contact with his entire life and those he made during his years living in Kitchener.  Dave will be remembered for his sense of humour and his storytelling as well as his advice and wisdom he gave to many.  Dave had many "adopted" kids that held a special place in his heart, people he took under his wing at work or even those who didn't have a father figure, he was quick to step up and provide support and love to those who needed it.  Dave spent most of his life working as a mechanic but his passion was woodworking and home renovations which he had great success in over the years, building countless pieces for friends and family.  Dave has left us with a void which will never be filled, he was one of a kind in so many ways and he will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him throughout his 64 amazing years.  Dave's family would like to thank everyone for all the love and support we have received over the last two months, your kindness never went unnoticed. We also want to thank everyone who visited throughout his illness, it brought him so much joy to be around those he loved. A very special thank you to Melissa who came from Southern Ontario and cared for him day and night without a second thought.  We know you are at peace, without pain and happy to be reunited with Janet, dancing in our hearts forever. There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone the light remains.  Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at the Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E, 705-759-2522) on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 6 pm – 9 pm. Memorial contributions to Canadian Liver Foundation (www.liver.ca) or to the https://www.gofundme.com/fundfordavemooneysgrandchildren&rcid=r01-153849528061-2280c73cafc94625&pc=ot_co_campmgmt_m would be appreciated.
