September 23, 2007 With deep sorrow, his family announces the death on September 23, 2007 of Kenneth, loving and beloved husband of Colleen for sixty years. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Michael (predeceased May 11, 2007) and Nancy, Kim and Terry, Shane and Sheila, and Robin and Alison. Memories of Grandpa’s love and the many special days shared with him will be cherished by his grandchildren, Heather (Don MacIntosh), Jennifer, Maija and Ryan Craig and their daughter Ava, Shane (Kelly Stafford), Morgan, Amy, Kenny, Colleen, and Sophia. Kenneth was predeceased by his parents James (1958) and Margaret (1979) Moodie, his brothers Lyle (1995) and Donald (1996), Colleen’s parents Owen (1996) and Amy (1988) Maguire and his brother-in-law Bernard Maguire (1994). He will be remembered by his sisters-in-law Florence (late Lyle) and Earlene (late Donald) Moodie, his brothers and sisters-in-law of the Maguire family, John and May, Jim and Donna, Beverley and Ann, and Karen (late Bernard), and his nieces and nephews of the Moodie and Maguire families. Ken served in the RCAF during World War II as a tail gunner in Bomber Command. On his return to civilian life he worked for almost thirty five years as a CPR conductor and trainman. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and Algoma Wing 432 of the RCAF Association. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home Wednesday September 26th from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. Funeral services will take place at 3:30 pm in the chapel. Mrs. Janet Norman will officiate. Interment at Hilly Grove Cemetery Manitoulin Island. Memorial donations to the Community Cancer Programs, St. Andrews United Church Memorial Fund or Algoma Regional Community Hospice (ARCH) will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
