WWII Veteran - Peacefully on Sunday September 10, 2006 at Aurora Resthaven in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Anneliese Fustineau and the late Margaret Ferguson. Loving father of Allyson and Ian (Marianne) Mitchell, Annelie Hugli (the late Werner), Christine Valentini (Mike) and Bettina Hasemann (Klaus). Cherished Opa to many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents William and Alice Mitchell, sisters Lillie Mills, Mabel Mitchell, Annie Campbell and brother John Mitchell. Friends will be received at THOMPSON FUNERAL HOME, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora 905-727-5421 on Tuesday September 12 from 6-8pm. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday at Aurora United Church, 15186 Yonge Street at 11am. Interment Aurora Cemetery. In Mel's memory donations to Aurora Resthaven or the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated. A special thank you to the staff of the third floor at Aurora Resthaven for their compassionate care of Mel during his stay there.
