On April 3, 2021, surrounded by his loving family, Jim Micks 67 passed away peacefully at home. Jim will be greatly missed by his wife and best friend of 45 years, Heather (nee Bolton), his children Donald (Collina) and Charity, and his grandchildren Molly, Marshall, James and Silas.
Jim was a beloved son to the late James and Shirley (nee Mason) Micks and a devoted brother to Linda Micks and his brother-in-law Les McGrayne. Jim leaves behind a large extended family of nieces and nephews, cousins and in-laws, and an extensive network of close friends and co-workers, who are extremely saddened by his passing.
Over his lifetime, Jim explored a number of different roles and adopted various hands-on hobbies such as carpentry and mechanics; however, his favourite pastime was spending time with his family and friends.
As a long-time, proud member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, Jim worked tirelessly in promoting worker’s rights to a fair and safe working environment.
Jim had a passion for music and as an avid guitarist, he found great pleasure in sharing this passion with friends and family.
In accordance with Jim’s wishes, no funeral will be held. Thank you Dr. Haapala and Amy, family and friends for all of your kindness and support to Jim in his final days, and to the family during this difficult time.
