MESSENGER, Clare Alvin – We regret to announce the passing of Clare on Monday, December 25, 2023 at the age of 66 years. Brother of the late Lynne Hurlburt (Ed), late Sandy Uthoff, Janet Messenger of Sault Ste. Marie and Margo Messenger of Toronto. Former husband of Sherry Jondreau. Father of Cameron Messenger of Toronto and Nicole Menzies of Winnipeg. Uncle of several nieces and nephews. In his earlier years, Clare was fearless on his motorcycle and participated in the Bon Soo Polar Bear Swim along with many other adventures in life and we will miss his humour.
The family is grateful to all the staff at Toronto General Hospital Transplant Unit for giving Clare an additional 14 ½ years of life.
Clare was always willing and ready to help whenever your needs might involve. Residents of Sault Ste. Marie Chapple Street Seniors Residence and Toronto BirtchPlace Co-Op can attest to his generosity and his big heart. Clare also enjoyed socializing with people and cleaning the Toronto Leslieville Park.
No funeral services will be held. The family will celebrate our memories of Clare and our gratitude that we had an additional 14 ½ years of life with him.
