Born May 18, 1926 in Hamburg, Germany – Died peacefully at his home on his favourite day of the year – December 24, 2008 in his 83rd year. Otto came to Canada from Germany in 1950 and married the love of his life, Helma Janssen on September 27, 1951. He dedicated his life to his children Frank (Margaret), Otto (Sylvia), Barbara Figures (Ken), Karen Scheele (Allen), Kenneth (Catherine) and his extended family Theresa Meincke, Adrian Brown and Drew Scheele. His grandchildren kept him going: Jennifer (Steve), Steven (Kristen), Marilyn (Denny), Kelly, Karly, Brianne (David), Brian, Jason (Tamara), Travis (Allie), Stephanie (Davendra), Jessica (Kris), Kenny Jr., and Emily. Great grandson Brayden Scheele kept Otto fit. A private family service was held at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Monday, December 29, 2008.
