With heavy hearts we regret to announce the peaceful passing of Gino Mea at the F.J. Davey Home on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at the age of 87.
Beloved husband and soulmate of Maria Mea (nee Mencucci). Much adored father of Elena Drapeau (Bobby), Max (Maria) and Marisa Peters (Jack). #1 Nonno of Michael, Max Jr., Jamie, Dennis, Stephanie, and Robbie.
Predeceased by his parents Nazzareno and Elena Mea as well as his siblings Lodovino, Mario and Tina. Son in law of the late Ricardo and late Jospehine Mencucci and brother in law of the late Silvio, Fiorenzo, Iva and late Franco (late Clara) Mencucci. Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Gino worked for Algoma Steel for 20 years as a bricklayer. After retirement he enjoyed gardening, bowling, and playing bocci at the Marconi.
Dad had a heart of gold and was always ready to lend a helping hand for his family and friends. His home was always open to everyone, and he would enjoy good conversation over a glass or two of his homemade wine.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the F.J. Davey Home for their compassion and care for Gino over the last 18 months. As per Gino’s wishes, a private family service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the FJ Davey Home Foundation or a charity of your choice (payable online or by cheque).
