It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of John Jr. on Friday, February 5, 2021 at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice at the age of 57 surrounded by the love of his family.
John was the son of the late John and Terry McPhee. Cherished younger brother of Janet Harnden (Alan), Dennis McPhee (Susan), and Kim Brooks (Mervin). Much loved Godfather of Kim Rose. Treasured nephew of Betty Grisdale (late Dail). John will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and cousins. John will be remembered as a gentle soul, humble and of quiet mind. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life: hunting in the fall and skidooing in the winter. His greatest joy was spending time with his brother and nephew Michael McPhee, and his cousin and best friend Kevin Grisdale. He relished sitting around a bonfire with his Grisdale cousins.
The family offers thanks to the doctors, nurses and support staff at the Sault Area Hospital who provided John with excellent care during his frequent visits. Special thanks to Doctors Dawson, Bignell and Beuhner and the nurses and support staff at ARCH for treating John with dignity and compassion. Many thanks to Father Paul for the anointing and his prayers. At John’s request there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place. In John’s memory donations payable by cheque or online to the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Care Fund or ARCH would be greatly appreciated.
