Gerry McMillan passed away at the Q.E.II Hospital in Grande Prairie, Alberta on Thursday, March 10, 2005 at the age of 65 years of cancer. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Jack. Gerry was born in Thessalon, Ontario to Clarence and Francis McMillan on September 8, 1939. He came to B.C. in 1960 and worked many years as a heavy equipment operator in construction in Dawson Creek, Kamloops and Nanaimo. At his retirement, he and Lynette moved to Grande Prairie. He leaves to mourn his passing;, his wife Lynette, sisters Barb (Gary) Leveille, Betty (Dan) Conte and brothers Jim, Lorne (Angie), Bernard (Linda), Earl (Bernice), Roger and Glen (Lila) all living in Ontario, aunts Dorothy McIlwrick and Marguerite McIvor in Saskatchewan, numerous nieces and nephews, a new found daughter Diane (Gord) Stork in North Dakota, a son Ritchie in Ontario, special friends Tyrone and Dorothy McElroy and Abe and Vi Sandnes as well as many other dear friends he made along his journey. At the familyâs request, there was no funeral held in Grande Prairie. Cremation took place and his sister took him home to Ontario to be buried in the family plot.
