Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Friday, April 30, 2021, at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Philip McGuire. Loving mother of Kevin (Enloe “Sean” Wilson), late Patrick, and late Shawn. Dear sister of Margaret Elliott (late Ken), late Nita Romyn (late John), and late John Johnston.

Upon graduating from Sudbury General Hospital’s Marymount School of Nursing in 1956, Claire began a long and distinguished nursing career at the Sault General Hospital in Obstetrics and Long Term Care. Her faith, family, and friends carried her through many challenging times, and she was blessed with a life overflowing with love. She cherished the knitting and scrapbooking groups from the Sault Senior Citizens’ Drop-In Centre, her swim gang, her fellow retired nurses, her church community, a wide extended family,  and countless friends – her “adopted family.” The list is all too long to mention, but if you knew Claire, you are on the list.

Claire’s family thanks the Sault Area Hospital doctors, nurses, rehabilitation team, and staff for their incredible care and compassion.
