Peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family at Lakeridge General Hospital, Oshawa on Thursday, June 10, 2004 at the age of 47. Loved wife and best friend of Gord. Cherished mother of and inspiration to Tom of London and Sarah of Oshawa. Daughter of the late Edward and Margaret Chasty. Daughter-in-law of the late Tom and Margaret McDowell. Dear sister of Laura Chasty and Edward Chasty Jr. (Denise) all of Thunder Bay. Sister-in-law of Irene Millar (Jim) of Scotland. Niece of Elizabeth McDowell. Aunt to Scott, Cheryl and Angela Chasty of Thunder Bay. Prior to her illness, Barbara devoted years of service as a canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society. A devoted wife and mother, she touched the lives of many with her personality and her warm smile. She will be dearly missed by all. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Wednesday, June 16, 2004 from 1 pm until time of funeral service in the chapel at 3 pm. Rev. Krister Ulmanis officiating.
