Passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the age of 83.
Survived by his loving wife Theresa. Much loved father of Joan (Fred), Ron and Richard (Kim). Grandfather of Sarah (Mike), Neil (Paige), Dean (Cameron), Kyle, Tyler, Chelsey and great grandfather of Logan, Lillie, Kamron, Kaia, Sipikaw, Izzy, Joy, Kaycee and Hyacin.
Predeceased by his parents Angus and Marion McColeman. Brother to Joan Brahl (late Len) and late Lois Harper (late Les). Son in law of the late Leonard and Marie Gravelle. Brother in law to the late Lawrence (late Doreen), late Donald (late Mary), late Leo (late June) and Willy (Madeline).
A heartfelt thank you to the kind and caring staff at Great Northern Retirement Home. Thank you to the PSW’s who cared for dad. Most special thank you to Dr. Booth, Bayshore nurses Jeff, Chris and especially Leah who helped us navigate the difficult final days with dad. Your compassion will never be forgotten. Also thank you to Terri Lynn and Tracey from Home and Community Care Support.
As per Donald’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (payable online https://www.heartandstroke.ca/how-you-can-help/ways-to-give or by cheque).
