In Loving Memory of Leo Joseph Mayer “The King” June 29th, 1936 – June 28th, 2013.  Beloved husband of 39 years of Jean (Bonhomme) Mayer. Loving father of Robert Mayer (Emily) of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Marisa Mayer of Sudbury. Loving son of Aline (nee Martel) and Dolph Mayer both predeceased. Dear brother of Sylva Mayer (wife Patricia predeceased) of Sault Ste Marie, Bill Mayer (Janet) of Sault Ste Marie, Bert Holmes (Gloria) of Alberta, Charles “Chuck” Holmes (Cathy) of Sault Ste Marie, Dolphis “Sonny” Mayer predeceased, Alona Nelson (Glen) of Sault Ste Marie, Colleen Laliberté (Mike) of Sault Ste Marie and Frances “Finnie” Miron predeceased (George of Sault Ste Marie). Sadly missed by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and the Bonhomme Family. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Leo worked at Falconbridge Nickel Mines for 33 years, retiring in 1992. Leo was an avid walker, keen hunter and angler and blueberry picker. He had an inspired work ethic and he was a passionate trade unionist. He will be remembered as a well-loved and respected man who was devoted to his family.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Maison Vale Hospice would be appreciated. Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Friends may call 2-5; 7-9pm Monday and after 10am Tuesday. Funeral Prayers in the R. J. Barnard Chapel Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013 at 11:30am. Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Blezard Valley Cemetery.
