MAURO, Guglielmo - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Guglielmo Antonio “Tony” Mauro on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at the age of 90.
Beloved husband of the late Giuseppina Mauro. Loving father of Lou Mauro (Mara) and Liliana Vagnini (Robert). Proud Nonno of Paolo Vagnini (Laura), Tina Nacionales (A.J.), Jenna Mauro and Ryan Mauro. "Bisnonno" Great Grandfather of Siena and Luca Vagnini and Isabella Nacionales. Son of the late Luigi and Serafina (nee Naccarato) Mauro. Tony was the oldest surviving sibling of his brothers, late Michele Mauro (Franca), late Vince Mauro (Elda), late Francesco Mauro (Giovanna) and late Luigi Mauro (Mirella). Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Born on April 11, 1933 in Paterno Calabro, Italy, Tony immigrated to Canada in 1957 with Giuseppina and they made a life in their new country, continuing their Italian cultural traditions. Tony was a long time employee of St. Mary’s Paper "Abitibi". After retirement he enjoyed keeping busy in the garden and doing projects around the house.

A private family funeral service was held at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522). Entombment took place at Holy Sepulchre cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
