MATUSZYK, Walter

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at the age of 88 surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his wife Lois (1990). Special father of Janice, Patti Jones, Kristin (Peter Siklosi), Michael (Lorraine) and Anne.
Grandfather of Stacey Rickman (David); Justin and Melanie Jones; James Caicco (Tiffany Bullock), Mike Caicco (Tracy Miller) and Danny Caicco; Kevin Matuszyk. Great grandfather of Aine and Brighid Rickman, Michael Jones, Parker Caicco and Brayden Caicco. Brother and friend of Helen Moore and the late Wanda McDonald. Son-in-law of Mildred Jackson. Walter was born in Tarnawa, Poland in 1920 and went to school with Pope John Paul II. He came to Canada in 1935 and returned to Europe to serve in World War II. He retired from Abitibi Price after many years of
service. Walter was an avid outdoorsman, a great storyteller, loved children and animals, and everyone enjoyed his generous hospitality. Friends may call at the
Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Thursday, May 28, 2009 from 1 pm until time of funeral service in the chapel at 3 pm. Mr. John Maccarone officiating. A
private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Salvation Army, ARCH (Algoma Residential Community
Hospice) or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Dad, you will always be loved and live in our hearts forever.
