02/02/1912 - 09/18/2009. Peacefully at the Great Northern Nursing Centre on Friday, September 18, 2009 at the age of 97. Loving wife of the late Antonio Matias. Beloved mother of Clementina Santos (late Antonio). Dear grandmother of Tony Santos (Margaret) and Theresa Mazzuca (Venanzio). Cherished great grandmother of David Mazzuca (Corrine), Christine Mazzuca, Marc Santos (Jasmine), Mike Santos (Kristin) and Matthew Santos. Predeceased by her sisters Julia, Maria and Helena. Also survived by her many nieces and nephews in Portugal. Jesus (pronounced “Za-zug” in the language of her birth) spent many a day at her favourite place to be - the Station Mall - sitting in the food court, people watching and shopping. She loved her seafood pasta, coffee and sweets. Her passion was always to put others before herself. Her family and friends were always her priority. A special thank you to the nurses at the Great Northern Nursing Centre for the care they provided to Engracia. Memorial contributions to the Great Northern Nursing Centre would be appreciated by the family. At Engracia’s request a private family service was held with interment beside her husband Antonio at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
