Masecar, David Paul

Surrounded by family and friends, David Paul Masecar at age 54, passed away suddenly at the Hamilton General. He will be survived by his loving and caring mother Roberta Masecar. He was a loving father to two children Kelly (Adam) and Scott Masecar. He had two grandchildren Hannah and Maddison Hall who he cherished very deeply. He also leaves behind two brothers John (Eleanor) and Donald (Cindy). David dedicated his life to healing family’s affected by suicide. He served on the Ontario Suicide Prevention Network and the Canadian Association of Suicide Prevention where he served as president. His work also included contributions to the general literature and consultation and training regarding the development of the strengths based community suicide prevention strategies. He was a talented musician, a wonderful writer and a captavativing speaker. Words cannot express how much we will miss him as he begins his new journey.
Funeral arrangements will be postponed until the summer due to the death of his father and be announced at a later date.
