On Sunday, November 28, 2021 Mary passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and went to be with her Lord and Saviour at the age of 81. Loving mother of Christine (late Steve), Craig (Stephanie) and Justine. Affectionately known as "Jo-Jo" to her grandchildren Shane, Dylan, Caleb, Chloe, Titus, Gabriel, Kassandra, Jacob, Angele, Andrea, Josh, Michael and Danielle. Daughter of the late Catherine and late Martin McPherson. Dear sister of Terry McPherson (Bruna), late Sharon Doyle, Martin McPherson, Maureen McCarthy (Marty), Colleen Buscarini, late Philip McPherson and Bill McPherson (Claire). Mary will be missed and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Mary was a life long nurse starting her career at the General Hospital as an RN in 1962. Later she became the night supervisor and then continued her career "behind bars" working as the nurse at the Sault Jail. Still looking for new adventures, she accepted a role as an air ambulance nurse before retiring. Anyone who knew Mary had an invitation to her timeshare in Acapulco, as she enjoyed travelling and having fun in the sun. Even in long term care, Mary's nursing passion was seen in the way she would assist nurses and take care of the other residents. Mary was known for her strong faith and trust in the Lord as well as her generosity evidenced by sponsoring many "adopted" children through World Vision. A private family Mass will take place at Our Lady of Good Counsel with Father Paul Conway officiating. Memorial contributions (payable by cheque or online) to Algoma Family Services would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Extendicare Maple View - Tunnel Lake for the care and compassion for mom throughout the years. A special thank you to Shane, Jackson, Trina, Samantha and Alicia. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Martynuck family.

Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your GOD will be with you wherever you go."
